The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) North East HR&D awards took place last night at the Marriott Hotel in Gosforth and brought together HR professionals from across the North East. The SME HR&D award, which acknowledges outstanding HR&D teams, was sponsored by Nigel Wright and the the first of the evening to be announced. As sponsors we were aware of the high quality of submissions and we are delighted to have won!
Joined by members from HR, Business Development and our Referral Management Centre, the whole Connect team was truly represented at this year’s awards. Lisa Davidson, our HR Director collected the award and had this to say:
“We are thrilled to have been awarded this year’s SME HR&D Team of the Year award. Being recognised by the CIPD and the professional standards they represent is truly an honour and highlights the continued hard work of the HR team in supporting colleagues and the wider business.”
As well as winning this prestigious award, we also sponsored the Health and Innovation Award, which was awarded to worthy winners – Muckle LLP. Judging this award and attending the event not only allowed us to observe the professionals in HR&D, but also provided us with the opportunity to see what other businesses are doing to improve their HR&D and wellbeing of their colleagues. We look forward to taking some of these ideas and putting them into practice within our own business.
